I dropped a contact today. I am extremely annoyed that this happened. I thought the right one was in, and it seemed to be for a bit. Then it wasn't there and I was trying to decide whether things looked blurry because my eyes were tearing up or because something more sinister had happened. It may have stuck to my fingers and then washed down the drain when I washed my hands.

Sigh.

I wondered if perhaps that had happened. :) I'm sorry to hear it. It's stories like these that make me decide against ever wearing contacts, though.

Well, dropping a contact won't be so annoying when I have a couple boxes' worth on hand. This time it was bad because I only had the one pair to carry me through to the follow-up appointment. If you have spares on hand, it's less devastating to drop one than it is to break your glasses. Admittedly, contacts make driving easier, but glasses are better when sitting at the computer for long periods of time.

(An aside. MSis' eyes aren't bad enough to warrant wearing glasses all the time. As a result, she'll set hers down in very inconvenient locations, increasing the odds that someone else will crush them when they set down a book. What can I say?)
